Machinist/Fabricator
We are looking for a skilled Machinist / Fabricator to join our workshop team. The role involves operating Lathe and Milling machines, carrying out Welding tasks, and performing mechanical fitting and assembly. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in machining and fabrication, with the ability to work from technical drawings to produce high-quality components and assemblies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and set up lathe and milling machines for precision machining tasks.
- Perform welding (arc/MIG/TIG as applicable) for fabrication and repair work.
- Carry out mechanical fitting and assembly, including drilling, grinding, and alignment.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Inspect and measure parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision tools.
- Maintain machines, tools, and workshop equipment in proper working condition.
- Ensure jobs are completed to required specifications and within deadlines.
- Troubleshoot machining and fitting issues and suggest improvements.
- Comply with workshop safety standards and safe operation of machinerRequirements
- Diploma / Certificate in Mechanical, Machining, or relevant trade.
- 2–5 years of experience in machining, welding, and fitting.
- Strong knowledge of lathe and milling operations, welding techniques, and assembly processes.
- Ability to work with engineering drawings and measurement tools.
- Good teamwork, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in industrial workshop environments.
- Familiarity with CNC operations (optional but preferred).
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
